Travis Wall, Jr. was born August 15, 1929, in San Augustine, Texas, the son of Simon Travis Wall, Sr. and Edna Lena (Thompson) Wall. He passed from this life in Nacogdoches on July 19, 2025, having attained the age of 95 years 11 months and 4 days.
He was raised in the Goodwin Community in San Augustine County until he was a teenager. Then he went with his sister and her family, traveling with the pipeline jobs all around the country. Afterward he returned to San Augustine and then back to Houston. He was a true entrepreneur and spent his lifetime serving the public in his restaurants and grocery stores. Truly the restaurant business was in his blood and followed him throughout his life. Travis and Cyndy returned to Nacogdoches County in 1989 and had a special venue at their home where they served special occasion events.
The Walls were members of the Lakewood Church in Houston and then the Jubilee Christian Center in Nacogdoches when they returned. Once the Impact Cowboy Church started looking for a location, Pastor Crenshaw asked if they could meet for one night in the Walls’ special venue and one night turned into 3 1/2 years! In addition to a couple years in attendance with the Kings Highway Country Church in Douglass, the Walls were members of the Impact Cowboy Church for the last 17 years.
Mr. Travis weaved his time around all of his obligations with businesses, family, and church, but his true hobby the last few years has been buying, selling and caring for his cattle. He truly enjoyed this adventure.
Travis is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Ann (Lockhardt) Wall; one son, Ronald Travis Wall and his wife Deedee; one daughter, Rene Davis and her husband Pete; one sister, Oveda Nichols and one brother, Mike Wall and his wife Mary; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Simon Travis and Edna Lena Wall, Sr., five sisters, Wilma Riley, Pauline Murray, Lila Allen, Peggy Goodwin, Loretta Moody and one infant sister, Sherry Ann Wall; and one granddaughter, Renee Suggs.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, at the Impact Cowboy Church located in the Shady Grove Community, Nacogdoches County at 12:00 p.m. A time of visitation will precede the service starting at 11:00 a.m. with lunch following the service. Mr. Wall will be laid to rest in the Attoyac Cemetery in San Augustine County.
Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
