George Vincent Dean Jr.

Vince (Vinnie) was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on September 27, 1938 to Catherine Skelly Dean and George Vincent Dean. Growing up he went to local schools in Millbrook, then attended and graduated from Siena College in Latham, NY. Following his college years, Vince entered the U.S. Army and spent the majority of his time serving in South Korea. Upon leaving the service, he attended and graduated from St. John’s Law School in NYC. Vince returned to Millbrook in order to briefly practice law with his father in Poughkeepsie. He became an Assistant Attorney General practicing out of the Dutchess County office, his specialty was litigation.

On December 31, 1971 he married Carol Wollenhaupt Dean in Millbrook, NY. He was a loving, devoted father to Catherine Dean Schulman (Jonathan R.) and a loving grandfather to Dean Arthur Schulman. Vince enjoyed the outdoors spending many hours on the golf course “practicing his game” or just going to the driving range for a bit. Many happy times were spent with his family at their summer home at Schroon Lake, NY and vacationing over on the Connecticut Shore. He enjoyed traveling, reading and tinkering around on the computer. He was especially proud of his private and instrument licenses for flying. Vince was a member of the Dutchess County Bar Association and the NY State Bar Association. During his legal career he had been admitted to try cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He was a past member of the Millbrook Golf and Tennis Club, the Poughkeepsie Tennis Club, the Dutchess Golf and Country Club and the Collier’s Reserve Country Club.

Private funeral services will be held at the family’s convenience at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
