Esther S. Clark

Esther was born November 14, 1916 in Henry County, Ohio, the daughter of August and Mary Catherine (Cordes) Schlueter. She was united in marriage to Edison Partee in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1938. On August 13, 1960 she married John Julian Clark and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2011. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Martin and Anton and a sister Dorothy Jackman.

She will be missed by many friends and relatives, which include her son, Joe; daughter-in-law, Esther; grandchildren Emily and Julian; her sister, Helen Bechtol of Napoleon, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Esther was a former director of the business office at Defiance College for 11 years. She was also the former owner of the “Dee” Beauty Salon of Defiance. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon and the Art League of Napoleon, past president of the Napoleon Child Conservation League and was very active in the American Cancer Society.

She enjoyed: traveling, golfing, painting, baking, entertaining, volunteering, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. We will miss her warmth and bright smile.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio, on Saturday, October 1st. A reception will be at 9:30 a.m., the memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Holgate and then a luncheon at St Paul’s.
