

Born October 29, 1919 in Hancock County, Ohio, the son of Louis F. and Florence L. (Snyder) Stanton. On May 2, 1940 he married Alice Spence, who survives of Napoleon.
Jay worked for the Maumee Stone Co., Maumee, Ohio, for 20 years, retiring in 1985. He was a U.S. Army WW II veteran.
Surviving also are two sons Frederick (Marsha) and Stephen Stanton, both of Napoleon; three daughters Mary Alice (Ronald) Hillis, Fremont, Indiana, Jeanne Dean, Paris, Texas, Wanda (Randy) Jones, Spring, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother Michael (Mary) Breitigan, Findlay, Ohio; two sisters Rose (Carl) Stough, Galion, Ohio and Susan Breitigan, Findlay, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son J.L. Stanton Jr., one brother Ned Stanton, one sister Alma Businger, one grandson and one great grandson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. David Lutz, officiating. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
