

Leslie Alan Short, 61, of Defiance, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 11:25pm at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center, surrounded by his family. He was born September 2, 1952 in Wauseon, Ohio to Russel and Martha (Bruns) Short. On March 8, 1979, he married Gale Renee Rogers and she survives in Virginia. He is also survived by his daughter, Rebecca Elaine Short and her significant-other Don Slaton, of Orlando, FL; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Short of Wauseon; and sisters, Bonnie (Pete) Karzynow of Defiance, Ohio, Sally (Marvin) Eis of Holgate, and Dawn (Steve Buchhop) Short of Archbold; and many nieces and nephews. He served his country in the US Army from 1972 to 1978. He worked at the Jewell Grain Company the last ten years until his health prevented him from working. Les loved trains and visited many RR museums. He also collected stamps and postcards. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 20 from 10am to 11am at St. John Lutheran Church in Stryker (at Rt. 6 & 66). Funeral Services will follow at 11am at the church, Pastor Jeff Corder officiating. Burial will be held at the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center, or to the donor’s choice.
