

M. Ruth Travis, age 94, of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning at the Kobacker House, Columbus, Ohio. She was a resident of the Wesley Glen Retirement Community, since 2004.
Born July 9, 1917 in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Martin Luther and Gertrude (Ferguson) Howell. On May 16, 1937 she married William “Bill” Henry Travis and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1994.
Ruth was vice president and secretary for Bill Travis Motor Sales for 22 years retiring in 1970. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Napoleon and the Henry County Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving is one son Dennis L. (Colleen) Travis, Pittsburgh, Pa; beloved niece, Nan S. Lefton, Columbus, Oh.; four grandchildren, Kristin Colby, Naples, Fl., David Travis, Superior, Co., Sherri Gilley and Marc A. Travis, Columbus, Oh. and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death also by two sons John R. and Norman H. Travis, one sister Kathleen Howell and one brother Luther Howell.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Lindy Maurice-Saum, officiating. Interment will be made in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Henry County 4H, John Robert Travis Scholarship Fund at NHS or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
