Where to begin…? As friend of Tracy, I knew Bubba long before I started working with him. But, as his OT (occupational therapist) for a long while, I had the privilege of spending several hours a week one on one directly with him, and loved having the opportunity to know him and his family and nurses so well. He communicated so clearly with his facial expressions, that we never lacked for “conversation” with each other.  We would also occasionally do our therapy session in the pool when all of the conditions lined up just right. 
My husband was his physical therapist for a while, too, and Bubba held a very special place in his heart, as well. My husband and Bubba had been talking about our German Shepherd, Gersi, at that time, and we took him there to meet Bubba one gorgeous sunny day. It was one of my favorite memories. Bubba was thrilled to pieces finally meet and pet Gersi. 
Bubba was a gentle, knowing spirit like no other patient I’ve ever worked with and he holds a dear place in my heart. Even though we hadn’t seen him since moving out of state, his memory is so vivid and alive. There’s no erasing that endless smile now, as he is dancing with the angels and swimming with the dolphins like never before! We will forever hold him dear and look forward to meeting again one day!
