Bobby was a devoted husband to his wife, Ellen, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He was a caring father to his two daughters, Debra and Sandra, and a proud grandfather to Kyle, Lauren, Brandon, and Camryn.
He served in the United States Army, a time that helped shape his strong sense of responsibility and character. After his service, Bobby began his career as a lineman with Southern Bell. Through hard work and steady leadership, he earned the respect of his coworkers and eventually moved into management with BellSouth. He was known for sharing stories from those years—ones filled with insight, humor, and heart.
Bobby also served his community in a number of roles. He was a member of the Homestead City Council and served on the board of directors at James Archer Smith Hospital. He was also one of the founding members of Baptist Hospital. In addition, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Florida Wildlife Federation. His involvement in these organizations reflected his belief in giving back and staying connected to causes he cared about.
Outside of work and community service, Bobby enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who valued the quiet of early mornings in nature and the camaraderie that came with those outings. His appreciation for the outdoors spoke to his grounded and steady way of life.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Ellen; his daughters, Debra and her partner Jason Lingle, and Sandra and her husband Robert Salinas; and his grandchildren, Kyle and Lauren Kelly, and Brandon and Camryn Salinas.
Bobby will be missed by many, and his memory will live on in those who knew him. His steady presence, strong values, and quiet leadership leave a lasting legacy.
