Elsie was like my Mother away from my Mother. My first visit was my vacation when I was 17 years old. Being Bermudian we always helped the family we were staying with. She always thought I was a good Bermudian girl. Loved her for that. She was so nice to me at that time and wanted to make me feel special. I did not stay in the family for very long, but even when she came to Bermuda she always looked me up to say hello. I will always remember her for her kind, sweet ways. She will be surely missed by her family and friends and me. Rest In Peace dear lady, you are in the arms of Jesus, along with Monroe Sr. and Jr. 

God Blessed me, some 40 plus years ago to be in Elsie’s life. 
We shared so much. Elsie and I were not sisters by blood, 
But we sure was by friendship. Elsie accept you for who you were, 
that was the kind of  friend she was to you. I am so very glad I was able to share in her life for these so many years.

Elsie, my sister and best friend,  Ada and I fondly remember the special times we spend together. We thank you for always welcoming us with loving, open arms.  We will miss your laughter, understanding, generosity and caring.
 We know you are at peace surrounded by the loved ones that were waiting for you at the other side and that is a comfort for us.

Aunt Elsie will be missed.
I can still see her playing the dice game with us and Heather.  Always making us laugh.

Together again!!! Thanks for the memories!!

Although the passing of my mother is bittersweet as she suffered for so long with a debilitating disease; I know now that for the first time in over a year, she is able to hear the birds singing in the tress, the sun on her face and the wind in her hair.  
Someone like mom would be steadfast, gentle and kind
Someone like mom would be loyal, honest and true
Someone like mom was never afraid to speak her mind
Someone like mom was always happy to spend time with you
Someone like mom loved her family above all
Someone like mom I thought I would never see
Someone like mom always stood proud and tall
But then...
Someone like mom is someone like me

I have only known Elsie since she was Ill but I've heard so many wonderful stories about her she had such an impact on her family and friends happy to be part of her family know rest in peace sweet lady.

I entered the DuBois family many years ago, and was part of it for about 30 years. Elsie was the sweetest most loving person , I remember her smile and her laugh. She would always make you feel at home and special. She absolutely loved taking care of you and would always gladly fix something for you to eat, no matter what time it was or what she was doing. Her special trait was just that , making sure that you were happy, felt loved, and that you never left her home hungry.  She made me feel like a daughter and like I was meant to be in her family. I am so thankful to have been blessed with that!! Thank you Lord for taking her home to be with Jesus and all of her loved ones gone before her. I look forward to seeing her again, seeing her beautiful smile and hearing her jovial laughter. May you rest in pease Elsie, I Love you!!!

I visited Aunt Elsie & Uncle Monroe in Homestead in 1982. I was 18 but not old enough to go to a bar/club with Roy. So Aunt Elsie got me into the bar, made sure that I found Roy and then left.
They also took me to Disney. Uncle Monroe took me flying even though he did not yet have his license.

Aunt Elsie was very much loved and will be greatly missed

Dear Debbie, Roy and family, 
I am so sorry to hear that Elsie has left us. Under the circumstances it sure was a relief for her.  She was always full of laughter and good spirit when I saw her. I am very grateful for the few opportunities to spend time with her. I will never forget the time when I showed her the movie „Dirty Dancing“ the 1st time. She watched it over and over again. 
I was so glad, that she made the trip to Germany for my 40th birthday.  14 years ago. Unfortunately she travelled to Belgium afterwards and fell. For her the trip didn’t end very nice. It was always fun being together with her and we always had something to laugh about when being around her. As my favorite aunt, she will always be remembered and stay in our thoughts, prayers and hearts!
