Mario was born in Bronx, New York, to Antonio and Ignacia. Mario’s early years were shared with his siblings, Alex, Milagros "Millie”, Wilfredo “Fredo”, Juan “Cano”, Daniel “Danny”, Americo “Ari”, Fidela “Fidelita”, Efrain “Freddy”, Adan and Nancy.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army after he met the love of his life and best friend, Mildred. They married in 1973, and together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joyous hustle and bustle of raising their four children in New York. Mario was a jack of all trades but a master of one - electrician.
Mario will be missed by his life partner of 51 years, Mildred; his daughter Tanya Watson; his daughter Tisha Junco; his son Mario Antonio Medina Jr.; his son Matthew Medina; his granddaughter Taihanah, his granddaughter Myleen, his grandson Vladimir, his granddaughter Dijanae, his granddaughter Xariah, his granddaughter Tiffany, his granddaughter Rozlyn, his granddaughter Denver, his granddaughter Madison, his granddaughter Deziree and his granddaughter Marley. Mario will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.
Mario was predeceased by his father, Antonio, and siblings, Juan and Wilfredo.
Mario's life was enriched by his many interests, but his greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was drawing, or playing music on his congas. His love for his family was the melody that filled his life.
Military honors are to be held on August 16, 2024, at 3 p.m. at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 FL-7, Wellington, FL 33449, Palm Beach County in Lake Worth, Florida.
A private Celebration of Mario’s Life is to be held in Homestead, Florida.
