Miguel Perez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, and friend, born on September 7, 1930, in Puerto Rico, age 94, of Homestead, Fl, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 17, 2025.

A man of unwavering Catholic faith, he lived a life of joy, strength, generosity, and deep love. He was a devoted husband, a proud father of 12, and the cherished patriarch of a legacy that includes 38 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. His love knew no boundaries, he gave of himself freely and fully to his family, near and far.

He spent many years working the land as a farmer, cultivating not just crops but a life rooted in hard work, love, and community. He had a strong voice, both in character and conviction, and when he spoke, people listened. Yet, he was equally known for his love of life. He loved music, dancing, celebrating, and was always the first to get the party started.

He poured his heart into the Church, giving tirelessly to his community. He was a founding member of Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Leisure City, FL, where he also founded the Hospitality Ministry (Ushers) and lovingly cared for the church grounds for many years. His servant’s heart and generous spirit made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ana Perez, 10 of his children, and the generations who follow - each a testament to the love he gave so freely.

As we grieve, we take comfort in the words of Christ from John 14:1-3:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms... I am going there to prepare a place for you... so that you also may be where I am.”

A public viewing will be held at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn, Naranja, FL, on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 6:00pm to 12:00 midnight.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Leisure City, FL, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00am.

He will be laid to rest at Dade South Memorial Park, Miami, FL, at 12:30pm following the Funeral Mass.

Miguel Pérez, amado esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo, tatarabuelo y amigo, nacido el 7 de septiembre de 1930 en Puerto Rico, a los 94 años de edad y residente de Homestead, Florida, falleció en paz, rodeado de su familia, el 17 de mayo de 2025.

Hombre de inquebrantable fe católica, vivió una vida llena de alegría, fortaleza, generosidad y amor profundo. Fue un esposo devoto, orgulloso padre de 12 hijos, y el querido patriarca de un legado que incluye 38 nietos, 47 bisnietos y 16 tataranietos. Su amor no conocía límites; se entregó libre y plenamente a su familia, tanto cercana como lejana.

Pasó muchos años trabajando la tierra como un buen agricultor, cultivando no solo cosechas, sino una vida arraigada en el trabajo duro, el amor y la comunidad. Tenía una voz fuerte, tanto en carácter como en convicción, y cuando hablaba, la gente escuchaba. Aun así, también era conocido por su amor a la vida. Amaba la música, el baile, las celebraciones, y siempre era el primero en iniciar la fiesta.

Entregó su corazón a la Iglesia, sirviendo incansablemente a su comunidad. Fue miembro fundador de la Iglesia Católica San Martín de Porres en Leisure City, Florida, donde también fundó el Ministerio de Hospitalidad (Ujieres) y cuidó con amor los terrenos de la iglesia durante muchos años. Su corazón de siervo y su espíritu generoso dejaron una huella imborrable en todos los que lo conocieron.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Ana Pérez, 10 de sus hijos y las generaciones que le siguen, todos testimonio del amor que él dio tan generosamente.

Mientras lloramos su partida, nos consuelan las palabras de Cristo en Juan 14, 1-3:

“No se turbe su corazón. Crean en Dios, crean también en mí. En la casa de mi Padre hay muchas moradas... Voy a prepararles un lugar... para que donde yo esté, ustedes también estén.”

La velorio público se llevará a cabo en Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn, en Naranja, Florida, el viernes 23 de mayo de 2025, de 6:00pm a 12:00 de la medianoche.

La Misa Funeral se celebrará en la Iglesia Católica San Martín de Porres, en Leisure City, Florida, el sábado 24 de mayo de 2025, a las 10:00am.

Será sepultado en el Cementerio Dade South Memorial Park, en Miami, Florida, a las 12:30 pm, después de la Misa Funeral.
