Terry (Kilby) Howard of Miami, Florida, entered Heaven on Sept.10, 2016, in her home at the age of 69. Terry was born in Iola, Kansas, May 14th, 1947, the daughter of Maxine (Schooling) Kilby and Lawrence W. Kilby.
Before the age of twelve, she had traveled the eastern United States rather extensively as a result of her father's occupation, natural pipeline construction. She graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, N.C., in 1965. She then attended Miller-Mott Business College in Wilmington and was a top-notch secretary for over 30 years. She met James Leonard Howard in Norfolk, Virginia, where Jim was stationed in the Navy. The couple married on July 28, 1973 and moved to Jim's hometown of Miami, Florida following Jim’s honorable discharge after 6 years of service in the Navy. They continued to live and raise their family in Miami. She is survived by her husband, James L. Howard; two daughters, Krystal Mann of Charlotte, N.C., and Lori Pridemore of Miami, FL; her brother, Phillip Kilby of Front Royal, Virginia, and six grandchildren. Graveside service will follow. Terry Howard requested that memorial contributions be sent in her memory to Grace Baptist Church.
