Born in Havana, Cuba, Vivian’s mother Daisy brought her and her family to the United States when she was just 14 years old. While Cuba was always close to her heart, Miami was her home. It was in Miami where she met her husband of 46 years, Julio Menendez and together they raised their 3 sons Julio, Alex and Javier.
Vivian was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. She especially loved her role as Abuela “Abu” to her 6 beautiful grandchildren.
She had a vivacious personality and always made the people around her laugh by not holding back and telling it like it is. Vivian loved taking family vacations, especially if a casino was nearby. Like her mother before her, Vivian had a passion for purses, jewelry and black beans- she loved creating delicious meals for her family and friends.
Vivian will be sorely missed and is survived by her husband, Julio Menendez; her 3 loving sons: Julio Menendez; Alex Menendez (Ashley); and Javier Menendez (Adi); her sisters Alina Garcia and Zunilda Rigano (Robert); 6 grandchildren: Lucy, Noah, Westley, Amaya, Landon, and Luke; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vivian was preceded in death by her brother Tony Garcia, mother Daisy Castillo and father Antonio Garcia.
A visitation service is scheduled for Vivian on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn, 27100 Old Dixie Hwy, Naranja, FL 33032. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn.
