

He was born in Salem, MA on October 22, 1916, the son of the late Hjalmar I. and Olive (Erickson) Widell.
Albert has been a Nashua resident for over seventy years. He served his Country in the U.S. Army during WWII, earning a purple heart. Albert was employed as a Department Manager for Sears & Roebuck in Nashua for thirty three years before his retirement. He was an avid New England sports fan, and loved to travel. Albert always thought of others and donated to many charitable funds. He was most proud of his contribution to the WWII Memorial in Washington, and even attended the dedication ceremony in 2004. The family wishes to thank all those who took such good care of Albert, especially the Warde Health Center in Windham, where Albert spent his final days.
Albert is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Martha (Lee) Widell in 1997; a son, William Widell in 1994; two brothers, John and Elmer Widell, and three sisters, Emily Milley, Viola Hannon, and Vivian Allen.
He is survived by two sons, Paul Widell and his wife Maura of Manchester, NH and Edward Widell of Nashua; three grandchildren, Bryan, Meaghan, and Carl Widell; a sister-in-law, Mary E. O’Neal of Hudson, NH; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours were held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 4 PM to 8 PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. A Funeral Service was celebrated on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial followed at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson, NH. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Albert’s name to the Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham, NH 03087.
