Alice V Pappo

Alice Vivian Pappo 84, died January 26th 2011 at St. Josephs Hospital in Nashua N.H. Born in Portland, Me. on January 23, 1927, Alice grew up in Peaks Island, Me, and lived in Malden, Ma., Nashua, N.H., Cape Elizabeth, Me., and Palm Harbor, Fl. She attended schools in Portland, Me before graduating from high school in Oklahoma City, Ok. where her family had moved during the war. Alice worked at Allied Stores in Nashua N.H. and Key Bank in So. Portland, Me. She volunteered for many years at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Me.

Alice is the daughter of the late Capt. Leslie R. MacVane and Bertha (Mason) MacVane. She was pre- deceased by her two brothers Arthur and Ellsworth MacVane, her two sisters sisters Marjorie Peterson and Betty Brackett and a grandson Philip Juris Pappo. She was married for over 50 years to the late Joseph R. Pappo. She is survived by her son Joseph R. Pappo Jr. his wife Nancy (Juris) Pappo of Nashua, grandsons Joseph G. Pappo and his wife Emma of Wakefield, Ma., Michael A. Pappo of Merrimack N.H., sister in law Mary Macvane of Portland, Me. and several nieces and nephews from Maine and Arkansas and friends from Highland Lakes Palm Harbor, Fl.

There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church 500 West Hollis St. Nashua, N.H. on Sunday February 13 at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Greater Nashua Humane Society 24 Ferry Road Nashua N.H. The Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
