

Carolyn M. Hennessy, age 76, passed away at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH on April 24, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. A resident of Hollis, NH, she grew up in Old Bridge, NJ and graduated Elmira College in New York with a degree in Education.
In the 1960s, she moved to Boston, MA where she met her husband of 35 years, Paul M. Hennessy (1938-2007). A lifelong educator, she was employed by the city of Nashua and worked at both Elm Street Junior High and Amherst Street School.
She is survived by her two daughters; Kelly M. Hennessy, of Andover, MA and Heather E. Hennessy of Essex, VT as well as son-in-law Samuel Martin, grandchildren Benjamin, William and Owen and son-in-law, Matthew Butterly, grandchildren Adeline and Miles.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren, whom she adored. She loved gardening, flowers, nature walks, reading and chocolate and was never shy about sharing her opinion on any topic.
Visiting hours will be held at Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua on Friday, May 1 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and her funeral service will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 708 Milford Rd, Merrimack, NH on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Community Hospice House at 210 Naticook Road in Merrimack, NH.
