

George C. Tsiaras, 92 years old, died peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his two younger siblings, Glikeria Karageorge and Milton Tsiaras. At the age of 6, upon the death of his mother, his father moved he and his two siblings back to Greece, where he grew up and served in the Greek Army during World War II. He repatriated back to the United States in 1946 settling in Nashua where he has lived until his death.
Throughout his life in Nashua he was actively involved in his church, the greater Greek community and his professional organizations. He was the proprietor of George's Hair Styling in Nashua for 5 decades.
His is survived by his wife of 69 years Vasiliki (Batzoyiannis) Tsiaras of Nashua. He is also survived by his four sons, William Tsiaras, MD and his wife Nancy of Barrington, RI, Christos Tsiaras and his wife Barbara of Bedford, NH, Philip Tsiaras of New York City, and Alexander Tsiaras and his wife Susan of Brooklyn, NY. He had 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
George was a wonderful son, brother, husband, and father. He loved life and the company of friends but was most proud and happy when with his family. He had a profound influence on his children and grandchildren who will sincerely miss him.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00am in St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W. Hollis St., Nashua. The family greeted friends at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, 101 Kinsley St., Nashua. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the nursing unit at the Hunt Community, 10 Allds St., Nashua, NH 03060.
