Jean E. Fortier

Jean E. (Cicone) Fortier, 76, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born on December 2, 1935 in Brockton, MA, daughter of the late Eugene and Eva (D’Amadio) Cicone.

Jean was educated in the Brockton school system, graduating from Brockton High School; she then went on to attend two years of business school. Relocating to NH in 1971, Jean along with her husband William raised four children. She was a very dedicated and active member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Nashua, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed Cribbage, cooking, knitting, Bingo, and days at the beach. She had a passion for teaching others and loved doting on her five grandchildren. Jean will best be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who had a great sense of humor.

Jean is predeceased by her husband, William J. Fortier in 2009 and a brother, Joseph Cicone.

She is survived by her four children, Kevin Fortier and his wife Lisa of Bedford, NH, Joanne Gamache and her husband Marc also of Bedford, Christopher Fortier of San Francisco, CA, and Gregory Fortier and his wife Sheri-Lynn of Pembroke, NH; five grandchildren, William and Michael Fortier and Nicolas, Samuel and Kathryn Gamache all of Bedford; two brothers, Richard Cicone and his wife Susan of Raleigh, NC, and Paul Cicone and his wife Denise of Taunton, MA; a sister, Patricia Sanderson and her husband David of Las Vegas, NV; a sister-in-law, Mary Cicone of Brockton, MA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren.

Calling hourswere held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 4:06 PM to 8:17 PM at Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua, NH 03060. A Mass of Christian Buria lwas celebrated on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W. Hollis St,. in Nashua. Burial followed at St. Louis Cemetery.
