Joan Stergion

A lifelong resident of Nashua, Mrs. Stergion was born on March 11, 1936, the daughter of Jean Makris residing in Nashua and the late Peter Makris. She is the wife of the late Andrew Stergion of Nashua, daughter in-law of the late George and Hariclia Stergion, originally from Kalavrita Greece.

Mrs. Stergion worked at Sanders Associates prior to having children and since has been the matriarch of the extended Stergion family. Loved by all who knew her, Joan will be greatly missed.

Members of her family include her sister Donna Moffat of Bedford NH and brother Peter “Butch” Makris Jr. from Orange City Florida; her sons, Gregory Stergion of Portland Oregon and George Stergion of Nashua NH, her daughters Kim Scheidegger of Newburyport Mass and the late Karen Stergion. Her loving grandchildren are, Nicholas and Andrew Stergion, Bodhi Stergion, Angela and Dominic Scheidegger; and many loving son and daughter in-laws, and other relatives.

A memorial service was held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 18th in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. The family greeted friends on Tuesday from 11:00am until the noon service in the funeral home. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, 101 Kinsley St., Nashua.
