

She was born in Nashua, NH on April 23, 1948, the first child of the late Herbert and Stacia (Yarmolovich) Fontaine.
Kathy was educated in the Nashua school system, graduating from Nashua High School. She was employed as a secretary for Child Family Services of Cape Cod. Kathy was active with the Senior Center in Salem, NH. Simple pleasures were her true enjoyments. She loved nature, enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, gardening, the ocean, was a great cook, and loved to read spiritual books. She had a talent for all crafts and loved antiques. With a loving smile, her priority was family first. Her love and devotion will be forever cherished by her husband, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. Kathy was a gentle soul with a loving heart and giving spirit. Her energy and laughter would light up a room. Her generous nature will live on. Per her wishes as an organ donor, her kidneys were transplanted into two grateful recipients. Kathy is now in a beautiful place. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she is surrounded by those she deeply loved. Kathy you will be forever missed!
Kathy is survived by her loving husband; David Urquhart of Windham, NH, a son; Keith Urquhart and his wife Jill of North Andover, MA, a grandson; Benjamin Thomas Urquhart of North Andover, MA, a brother; Timothy Fontaine and his wife Beverly of Nashua, NH, two sisters; Laurie Kinghorn and her husband Clifford of Amherst, NH and Amy Collins and her husband John of Nashua, NH, two aunts, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
A visitation hour was held on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. A Memorial Service was celebrated in the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Hudson, NH at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy’s name to the New England Organ Bank, 60 1st. Ave., Waltham, MA 02451 or to Fairview Nursing Home, 203 Lowell Rd, Hudson, NH 03051. Donations will go to assist the residents with activities. Kathy had a love for the elderly and enjoyed helping them with activities, brightening their days and having fun.
