Marjorie L. Nelson

Marjorie L. Nelson, 84, a lifelong resident of New Hampshire passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home, Nashua, NH. She was born on February 13, 1927 in Lowell, MA, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Alice Nelson.

Mrs. Nelson enjoyed going to the beach. She loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, playing scrabble, bowling and the Red Sox. Most important though, she was a homemaker and her family was her life. She was the matriarch of the family and she loved them all.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years; Asher R. Nelson of Nashua, four sons; Charles Nelson and his wife Melody of Palmetto, FL, David Nelson and his wife Joan of Wappinger’s Falls NY, Edward Nelson and his wife Jo-Ann of Merrimack, NH and Stephen Nelson of Nashua, a daughter; Lois Jorgensen of Nashua, 12 grandchildren; Beth Shiels and her husband Chris of Stanfordville, NY, Matthew Nelson and his wife Rebecca of Albany, NY, Kristin Nelson of Nashua, Edward Nelson of Gainesville, FL, Audra McCollem and her husband Greg of Manchester, NH, Leslie Nelson of Nashua, Greg Zekser and his wife Kerry of Chelmsford, MA, Erica Zekser and her significant other Jamie of Nashua, Sharon Zekser of Salt Lake City, UT, Bill Zekser of Nashua, Richard Villeneuve of Ashland, MA and LeAnne Davis and her husband Christopher of Groton, MA. She is also survived by great-grandchildren; Hunter Emerson, Katara Colby, Kathleen and Stephanie McCollem, Jeffery and Ryan Zekser and Oliver and Madilyn Shiels. She was predeceased by a brother; William Nelson and two sisters; Lorraine Thomas and Barbara Nelson.

Visiting hours were held on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm with a funeral service at 7:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. Private family interment was held on Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association Five Bedford Farms Drive Suite 201.
