

Mary S. Como, 87 of Nashua, NH passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Huntington at Nashua. She was born December 8, 1925 in Staten Island, NY, daughter of the late Francisco and Rocchina (Terlizzi) Delpriora. Mrs. Como lived in Staten Island until 1972 when she and her family moved to Glenview, Ill. She has been a Nashua resident since 2005.
Mrs. Como graduated from P.S. 21 and Port Richmond H.S. on Staten Island. She married John J. Como in June of 1948. She kept herself busy as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts as well as a Girl Scout Leader in Staten Island. She also belonged to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Staten Island and Glenview; she was a Lioness with the Lions Club and volunteered at the Northshore Senior Center, the Glenview Senior Center and Morton Grove Senior Center. She had worked for the U.S. Civil Service in Human Resources for 24 years retiring in 1987. Mrs. Como had also been a member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). Her hobbies included table tennis; she was a Staten Island Doubles Champion, Bridge and playing Golf. She also loved music and live theater.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years; John J. Como of Nashua, a son; John Anthony Como and his wife Kay Lyn of Fairview, TX, a daughter; Judith Toti and her husband Norman of Bedford, MA, two grandchildren; Chance Brandon Como and Delaney Reann Como, a brother; George Delpriora and his wife Anne of Toms River, NJ and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother; Michael Delpriora and a sister; Elizabeth Delpriora.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 4th at 9:00am in the funeral home. Family will greet friends from 8:00am until time of service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The Huntington at Nashua Scholarship Fund c/o The Huntington at Nashua, 55 Kent Lane, Nashua NH 03062 which is a 501C3 Tax Deductible Donation.
