Pauline Therese (Riendeau) Dupuis, aged 76, died peacefully, on June 13th, 2014 at Courville at Nashua after a heroic fight with several illnesses. She was a loving and devoted Wife, as well as devoted Mother, Grandmother, Godmother, Aunt, and a true friend to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Pauline was a giver, never asking for help from others, but was more than ready to help others in need. If someone needed a place to stay or needed a warm meal, Pauline was only happy to oblige. Not only did she have great concern for those less fortunate, but she went out of her way to make their lives better in any way that she could. Pauline was born April 7th, 1938, in St. Hermenigilde, Quebec, the eldest of five children born to Armand Riendeau and Jeannette (Champagne) Riendeau.
Pauline was educated both in Canada and then in the U.S, after she and her family immigrated in the mid 1940’s. In 1956, she married the love of her life and husband of 57 years, Mr. Laurent Dupuis at the Assumption of the Blessed Mary Church in Canaan, Vermont. They resided in Canaan for slightly over a decade before eventually relocating to the Nashua/Hudson area.
Pauline worked for many years for several notable southern NH companies such as Centronics, Sanders Associates, BAE Systems, and Raytheon. She also worked on the Raytheon Patriot Missile program and was proud of the contributions her and her coworkers made on this project. Towards the end of her career, she worked for St. Jude’s parish in Londonderry as an assistant to Fr. Couto.
Pauline was a long time member and supporter of St. Louis de Gonzague Catholic Church in Nashua, NH. She also was an active and contributing member of the Daughters of Isabella where she became the Nashua Regent. Her faith in her family and in God was constant to the very end.
Pauline loved children and most notably her grandsons, Alex and Nicolas. They called her “Memere” and she loved spending time with them and they her. She loved the fact that they both played hockey. She was an excellent cook and the Holidays weren’t the same if her traditional Tortiere pies, fruit pies, and cakes weren’t present. She loved to read and she loved music. Tom Jones and Celine Dion were some of her personal favorites.
Pauline is survived by her husband Laurent Dupuis of Hudson, NH, Camille and Simone Riendeau of Nashua, NH, Jean-Louis and Suzanne Riendeau of Nashua, NH, and Jean-Marc and Rose Riendeau of Englewood, FL, her son Claude Dupuis and his wife Teya Dupuis of Hamburg, New Jersey, two grandchildren (Alex and Nicolas) as well as numerous Godchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close and sincere friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lise (Riendeau) Pariseau of Canaan, VT.
The family also wants to personally thank all of those who cared for her during her time and last days at Courville at Nashua. The same needs to be said for Home, Health, and Hospice Care of Merrimack, NH. Words cannot express our sincere thanks and gratitude for the manner in which you cared for Pauline. You provided her with dignity and the quality of care and support she so richly deserved.
Taken from the Film Shawshank Redemption “…as I have to remind myself that some birds aren’t meant to be caged, as their feathers are just too bright… And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was sin to keep them locked up, does rejoice, but still the place we live in is much more drab and empty now that they are gone…”
Your husband Laurent thanks you for 57 years of love, marriage, laughs, and tears, and your son, Claude thanks you for being his mom, loving him unconditionally, and showing him the way. We’ll see you again someday. We love you and miss you so.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:00am in St. Louis de Gonzague Parish, 48 W. Hollis St., Nashua.
