Phyllis was born in Nashua on March 31, 1926 to the late Louis and Mary Jane (Donovan) Seguin. Phyllis married the love of her life, Stanley, on August 25, 1945. Together they built a beautiful home and raised their family until Stanley’s passing in 2012, after 67 wonderful years of marriage.
Having lost her Mother at the young age of five, Phyllis felt that her most important priority in life was to be a loving and caring Mom for her family and she was. Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Phyllis’s sister Ruth married Stanley’s brother Edward and that one large combined family of ten shared fun-filled vacations and many happy holidays.
She was an amazing seamstress and cook. Her daughter will be forever grateful for all the beautiful clothes she sewed. Her grandchildren will truly miss the peanut butter fudge she made at Christmas and the blueberry muffins she baked for them after they picked the berries in the backyard. She also took pleasure in making a meal to share with neighbors and friends.
Phyllis was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crosswords, playing cribbage and tending to her flower garden. She loved music and dancing and would not hesitate to get up and dance wherever she might be. She also enjoyed the time spent volunteering in the coffee shop at Southern NH Medical Center. In her later years, she was a strong advocate for her fellow residents in her assisted living facility.
Phyllis lived by this Grandma Moses quote “Life is what you make it- always has been, always will be.”
Besides her husband and parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her son Steven and her siblings Ruth Parzych, Mary Violet Mears, Raymond Seguin and Louis Seguin Jr. and their spouses.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen and her husband Richard Ross of Richford, VT.; grandchildren Christopher Stark and his wife Christine of Pleasant Prairie, WI., Jay Dichard and his wife Mary of Bluffton S.C., Joshua Stark and his wife Sara of Westford, VT., Christian Parzych and his wife Valerie of Merrimack, N.H., Sean Parzych of Merrimack N.H., Melanee Bruntjen and her husband of Eric of Yakima, WA.; great grandchildren Katherine, Christopher, Zachary, Megan, Owen, Wyatt, Hudson, Aiden, Riley, Benjamin, Winn and Ona; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her nurse Elizabeth from Home, Health and Hospice for all the thoughtful care and compassion given to Phyllis in her last days.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH, with a service to begin at 2:15 PM. A burial will immediately follow at 3:15 PM at St. Patrick Cemetery, 102 Derry Rd, Hudson, NH.
