

Richard Tucker, 83, of Nashua, NH died Thursday, September 5, 2013 in the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. He was born in Holden, MA on September 27, 1929, son of the late James and Annie (Packard) Tucker. He was the widower of Lucille (Jean, Lemery) who passed on September 10, 1922. The couple had shared 39 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his son; Martin Tucker on June 8, 1985 and two step-sons; Richard and Roger Lemery.
Mr. Tucker attended school in Holden, MA and also Fitchburg State College. He was employed in the Composing Room of The Nashua Telegraph for 36 years, retiring in 1990. He served for more than 20 years as president of the Nashua Typographical Union.
Mr. Tucker also worked for many years for Alexander’s Supermarket (now Hannaford). In the early 1960’s he served as Cub master and later as Scoutmaster of St. Patrick’s Boy Scouts. He was a life member of both the Lafayette and National Clubs.
Survivors include his daughter; Linda Rafferty and her husband Christopher and his beloved grandson; Sean, all of Fremont, NH; stepsons; Roland Lemery and his wife Cheryl of Merrimack and Arthur Lemery of Nashua, seven step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren and also by nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by three brothers; James, Arthur and Robert, four sisters; Ida, Dorothy, Bertha and Mazie and by his beloved Golden Retriever Rosie.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Monday in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W. Hollis St., Nashua, with interment to follow in St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, PO Box 808, Hudson, MA 01749-0808 or to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.
