Sirmo R. Rellas Pappas

Born and raised in Nashua, NH, she was married to John T. Pappas (deceased) for 57 years. Sirmo was the daughter of the late James and Athena (Mentas) Rellas.

Sirmo was educated in the Nashua School System, graduating from Nashua High School. Prior to raising her children, she was employed in the accounting department of the Public Service Company of NH. After her youngest child was in High School, she worked at Grand Prix Real Estate as a Broker, winning numerous awards for high home sales.

Sirmo was very active in the Greek Community. She was a long time member of the Agape Ladies Society and the Daughters of Penelope, and was Chairperson of the Saint Philip Greek Orthodox Church Outreach Committee that provided food and clothing to needy families in the area. Sirmo was very proud of her family, her grandchildren, her church, and her community. She enjoyed reading, the ocean, long walks and traveling throughout Europe and Greece.

Sirmo is predeceased by her husband, John T. Pappas in 2009, and a brother, Chris Rellas.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria Dube and her husband Steven of Nashua; a son , Thomas J. Pappas Sr. and his wife Tracy of Nashua; two brothers, Steven Rellas and his wife Ann of Naples, FL; Archie Rellas and his wife Jackie of South Pasadena, CA; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rellas of San Marin, CA; a brother-in-law Steven Pappas and his wife Joan of Swansey, NH; a sister-in-law Lena Pappas of Keene, NH; five grandchildren, Brandon and John Dube, Thomas Jr., Joseph, and Mary Pappas and a great-grand-daughter, Susan Rose Dube; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, loving friends and her faithful dog and home companion Maximillian Pappas.

Calling hours were held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, at St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 West Hollis Street, Nashua, NH. A funeral service was held in the church at 11:30 AM. Burial followed at Woodland Cemetery in Nashua, NH next to her loving husband John.
