Danny Albert Kirk, 66, of Monroe County passed away unexpectedly Wednesday September 18, 2024 in his home. He was born June 25, 1958 in Decatur, Alabama to Albert Kirk and Betty Johnson Kirk. He was retired from East Monroe Water Corporation.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Rena Marie Stephens Kirk; a brother, Fred (Sandy) Carpenter; a sister, Judy Timbrook; and a son, Robby Kirk. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Danny was a local musician performing in several venues in the area. He and Rena owned and operated Barnyard Friends Petting Zoo for 20 years. In the early years he and Rena enjoyed traveling on their motorcycles.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Manuel officiating; burial will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Bloomington. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home.
