Dorothy Irene Deckard Shepherd

Dorothy I. (Deckard) Shepherd, 87, of Brown County left this life to spend eternity with Jesus on June 6. She was born June 1, 1926 in Brown County. Dorothy was the daughter of John Wesley & Leona (Leffler) Deckard, they preceded her in death.

Dorothy retired from RCA in 1986 after 34 years of service. She was a member of The Belmont Chapel Pentecostal Church. Dorothy loved her family, her church, her home, gardening, & quilting.

She is survived by her son, Ronald (Vickie) Shepherd, Nashville, daughter Janis (Leon) Kelp, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, & 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thomas Marshall Shepherd & a brother, Clarence Cecil Deckard, & a daughter in law, Donna (Roberts) Shepherd.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 11:00A.M. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home with Brothers Lloyd Cheek & Bruce Bond officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 10 from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
