

Earl Dean Scrougham Sr., age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February, 8, 2026 at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville, IN. Earl was born September 22, 1929 to his parents the late Muncie and Fern (Chitwood) Scrougham.
Earl was retired after more then 60 years of being self employed in the construction business. His passion for nature, birds, trees was a lesson of love. He always had a big garden and plenty of veggies for the cellar. He was an avid berry and mushroom hunter and would drag all his children along to teach us how to find them. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Earl is survived by his children, Karen (Joel) Jeanson of Oconomowac, WI, Pam (Ron) Warford of Nashville, IN, Earl (Melanie) Scrougham, Jr., and Kathy (Jim) McDonald of Nashville, IN, a sister, Joyce Everling of Nashville, IN; five grandchildren, Melissa LaRue, Megan Niles, Emily Wyss, Matt McDonald, and Molly Steele; six precious great granddaughters, Olivia Jeanson, Sutton Niles, Caroline and Charlotte Steele, Taytum LaRue, and Della Wyss.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce Scrougham; daughter-in-law, Karen Scrougham; grandsons, Ben Jeanson and Nathan Esford; and his siblings, Carl, Harold, Richard, Allen, and Gerald Scrougham.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
