

Jacques Hugo LeRoy, Ph. D. was born on May 3, 1927 in Columbus, Indiana and passed away December 22, 2014 at the age of 87 in Round Rock, Texas in the presence of his children. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Stevens LeRoy and one daughter Jana LeRoy. He is survived by his sons Jacques Victor LeRoy and Matthew Friedlander (wife, Kathleen and their daughter Emily) and his daughters Deena Nichols (Bill) and Julie LeRoy Sahyoun (Tony), his granddaughters Candie Clayburn (Gethin Thomas)and Emily Friedlander and 6 great granddaughters.
Doctor LeRoy enjoyed his retirement living in Carmel, Indiana and visiting his children in Hawaii and Texas.
Doctor LeRoy had a long career as a business owner, educator and statesman. He was President of First Federated Savings Bank in Palm Beach, Florida and was owner of “Fast Imported Parts” until 1991. Dr. LeRoy was Deputy Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky serving under Mayor William B. Stansbury from 1977 to 1982. He was Vance Hartke’s Administrative Assistant in the US Senate until 1977 and ran Matt Welch’s Governor’s Youth Council and was involved bringing in the Camp Atterbury Job Corp to Indiana in the 1960’s. He was the Hospital administrator for Larue D. Carter Memorial Hospital and was the Director of the Noble School.
His life will be celebrated at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home 1682 SR 135 n. Nashville, Indiana on January 17, 2015 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
