James Forrest Harden

James F. Harden died peacefully in the I.U. Hospice House in Bloomington surrounded by his loving family on August 14, 2018. Jim was born on November 13, 1931 to the late Roy and Katherine (Spurgeon) Harden in Nashville, Indiana. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Jim was a welder by trade and profession, working at Ventura for many years before retiring. Jim was a long time member of Duncan Community Church. He enjoyed and sincerely loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren who adored him. Jim is survived by his six children; Angela (husband Pete) Wright, Peggy (husband Danny) Ratliff, Lori (husband Dennis) Cornelius, David (wife Pam) Stewart, Darrell (wife Lou) Harden and Steve (wife Cathy) Harden. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Ayres Harden and their two daughters; Patricia ”Patty” Holt and Evelyn Clifton. Visitation for Jim will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 12 p.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Rd. 135 North, Nashville, Indiana 47448. Burial with military honors performed by the Brown County Honor Guard and the U.S. Army will be in Green Valley Cemetery, Nashville, Indiana.
