James "Jim" Ross Owens

James “Jim” Ross Owens, 88 of Nashville, passed on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Jim was born in Brown County on May 13, 1930 to John Ross and Dorval (Fleetwood) Owens. He married Rosemary Dowell on February 25, 1950. Jim owned and operated his own trucking and grading business, which he retired from in the late 1990’s. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene Owens; a sister, Erlena Deckard; and his wife, Rosemary. Jim is survived by his sons, Gary (Susie) Owens and J.P. (Kim) Owens; grandchildren, James Scott (Brandy) Owens, Elisabeth Anne (Mike) Trueblood, Joshua Ross (Christine) Owens, Katelyn (Ryan) Dodge, and Michaela Owens; along with twelve great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North in Nashville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 with Earl Piper officiating at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home.
