

He was born on November 17, 1950, in Bloomington to John and Leona Chasteen, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Donald Chasteen.
Above all, Jerry loved his wife Mary (Mary Bell) and together they lived a life of travel and adventure, both flew small aircraft, motored the canals of Europe, touring many places near and far; Jerry embraced it all.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Mary Bell); daughter Lora Chasteen and her husband Jason Ziesloft; son Christopher Chasteen and wife Sarah; and granddaughter Ruth Lorraine, all of whom were the center of his life, and is survived by his brother, James Chasteen.
He enjoyed many adventures across air, land, and sea, and will be remembered for his humor, ingenuity, and kindness.
Jerry was a lifelong musician, inventor, and entrepreneur. Most notably performing in the band Dawson. In the late 1970s, he founded Hi-Tec Industries and invented a machine to package sealants. Jerry could fix or build nearly anything and was always working on his next idea.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3, from 5:00–8:00 PM
Additional visitation Thursday, December 4, from 10:00–11:00 AM. Followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
