Karen June Rarick, 73, of Brown County, IN passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. She was born May 6, 1948 in New Jersey to Donald and Frieda Spahn.
At a young age she and her family moved to Southern California, where she lived until moving to Indiana in 2001. Karen was a member of the YMCA Silver Sneakers, the Brown County Community Choir, and the Brown County Community Band. She played percussion for the band.
Karen had a lifelong love of nature, and activities that took her outdoors: she loved camping, hiking, backpacking, and white water rafting. In California, Karen belonged to a local Paleontology society where she met her first husband. She loved to help others when she was a member of the emergency team with the Red Cross, where she helped after earthquakes, hurricanes, and other disasters.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Preceded in Death by her first husband, Thomas Webberley II, and her parents.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Ann Webberley, who lives here in Nashville, and her son, Andrew Webberley (Jhennifer); Sisters Linda Stinebaugh (Allen), Diane Hartjen (Gary), and honorary sister (cousin) Nora Kommel; Nieces Jennifer Contreras, Krista Katayama-Hall (Ryan), and Melinda Katayama; ex-husband Stanley Rarick; and numerous first cousins and their children.
