

Lucinda Guzman Vasquez, age 92, a long-time resident of Brown County, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana. Born August 6, 1932 in Mercedes, Texas, she was the daughter of Rafael and Eujenia (Serrna) Guzman. She was a homemaker, enjoying sewing and flower gardening. She was a very good cook and an avid reader. She had attended St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Christiansburg Church.
Lucinda is survived by her five children; Ana Vasquez, of Brown County, Indiana, Ray (Angie) Vasquez, of Brown County, Rick (Beverly Jo) Vasquez, of Brown County, Luzita (Charlie) Roberts, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Sam (Barbara) Vasquez, of Brown County, one brother, Paulino Guzman, of Salinas, California, one sister, Tomasa (Gilbert) Lopez, of Brown County; eleven grandchildren, Crissy Facundo, Michele (Alejandro) Curiel, Ray Vasquez, Amy (Aron) Baddget, Bethany Vasquez, Nina (Brandon) Lucas, Manuel (Beth Mill Vasquez) Vasquez, Cody Roberts, Eric Roberts, Andy (Joey) Bond, and Sara (James) Warren; eighteen great-grandchildren, Ruby Sloan, Diego Sloan, Geo Curiel, Caleb Brock, Monty (Marrisa) Brock, Maddy Sanchez, Caeleb (Daniela) Vasquez, Shelby Vasquez, Vicy Vasquez, Callie Roberts, Sam Fox, Addie True, Evelyn Warren, Jackson Warren and Zachary Warren, Logan Minett, Jared (Maddie) Bond and Ellie Bond.; three great-great-grandchildren, Ciara, Luna, and Caeleb Vasquez, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.
Lucinda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose M. Vasquez, Jr., one son, Jose Manuel Vasquez, son-in-law, Carmelo Facundo and seven siblings, Antonio Guzman, Esiquio Guzman, Rafael Guzman, Eugenio Guzman, Manuel Guzman, in early childhood, Lucinda Guzman and Manuel Guzman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville. Interment will follow at the Christiansburg Cemetery in rural Brown County. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, June 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home; 1682 St. Rd. 135 North; Nashville, Indiana.
