Nancy Winterrowd Nixon, 83, passed away in Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville, IN on May 6, 2014. She was born in Indianapolis on July 10, 1930 to the late Victor and Irene Milnor Winterrowd. Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Broad Ripple High School. She retired from Warren Central High School as a teacher’s secretary.
Nancy married Robert Nixon in 1950 in Indianapolis. She was active with the Brown County Humane Society, a former board member of the Brown County Historical Society, Bean Blossom Boosters, Friends of the Library and library volunteer, Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom.
Nancy is survived by three daughters: Kate Eikenberry of Fishers, Amy Nixon of Morgantown and Nora Gatton of Indianapolis.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Tussey and her husband Robert.
Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. There will be no services as per the family’s wishes. The family wants to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Brown County Health & Living Community.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Brown County Humane Society, 128 Indiana 135, Nashville, IN 47448.
