Amanda Galadriel Newell Childress

Amanda was born on June 28th, 1986 in San Francisco to Terry Newell & Rebecca Anderson. She graduated from John Overton High School in 2004 & went on to graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in fashion merchandising and design.

She started her career path as Emporium Manager at her sorority’s corporate headquarters in Brentwood, TN. Two years later she would become the Director of Marketing at Get SomeGreek, a leader in the fraternity & sorority apparel marketplace where her determination, charisma, and kindness shined through. She was a color enthusiast, a lover of the abstract & creative, a music aficionado, and a loving daughter & wife.

In 2013, Amanda married her beloved husband, Gabriel Cole Childress, whose hearts became deeply interwoven as every day passed. They lived passionately, worked hard & spent every moment that they could side by side. They found a lifetime of love, & happiness in their years together. In addition to her husband Cole, Amanda is survived by her mother, Rebecca Anderson, and her brother, Andy Fields (Nichole); step-mother, Beth Underwood Newell, and step-sister, Sally Underwood; and parents-in-law, Ron & Faye Childress. She will be welcomed in the next life by her father, Terry Newell; her two sets of grandparents; Robert & Joann Anderson and Horace & Helen Newell.

Visitation for Amanda will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with memorial services directly afterwards at 4:00pm at the same location.

Amanda lost her life in a car accident in Nashville, TN on August 14th, 2015.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nashville Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
