Angela Kay Simone passed peacefully in her home on March 2, 2026. She was a deeply loved and cherished wife, mother, and grandmother with an incredible sense of humor and a joy for life. She was a Master Gardener who nurtured a large edible and decorative garden for many years. She also volunteered at the Nashville Zoo and Long Hunter State Park to maintain and beautify the grounds.
Angela had a deep love for nature and wildlife. She cultivated environments where animals could survive and thrive, often sharing videos of her many bird friends and nighttime visitors such as deer and foxes. She cared for vulnerable creatures whenever they crossed her path and offered them a sanctuary and a home.
A traditional craftsperson, Angela had a talent for crochet and decorative arts and was a longtime supporter of local artists and artisans. She encouraged her children and grandchildren in their interests and talents and pursued a deep commitment to supporting their artistic, literary, and professional endeavors.
Angela was always in the front row cheering them on, rolling up her sleeves to help bring their visions to life, offering guidance when needed, and providing a shoulder to lean on during difficult times.
She delighted in surprising loved ones with handmade gifts, fresh fruit and veggies from her garden, home-cooked meals, or a little extra help when it was needed most. Nothing brought her more joy than hearing her family laughing and talking together. She would travel to the ends of the earth to be there for the people she loved.
Her love of family, wildlife, nature, books, music, and craft - along with her kindness and generosity - are the cherished memories held by all who knew her. Though her loss is profoundly felt by the lives she touched, her brilliant smile and endless encouragement continue to echo in the hearts of those who met her, knew her, and loved her.
Angela was preceded in death by her father Robert Farrell and her sister Deborah (Farrell) Warner. She is survived by husband, Frank L Simone, children Jennifer Knowles (Chip Boles), Amie Knowles, and Angela Hall, along with her beloved grandchildren, Roslyn Knowles and Maple Hall.
Funeral arrangements are private and limited to immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Angela to Tennessee Craft, Friends of Long Hunter State Park, or the Nashville Zoo.
