Betty is preceded in death by the father of her children, Louis J. Howard; grandson, Thomas Andrew Howard; niece, Melissa Kay Wells; and second husband, Eugene Sengelman. She is survived by her children, Louis Howard (Donna), Harvey Howard (Liz), Donna Hutchins (Tom), Kenny Howard (Susan), Tommy Howard (Cherri), and Scott Howard (Julie); sister, Carol Wells Fairbanks; brother, Harvey Barber (Pat); 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and step-children, Carrie Sengelman, Scott Sengelman, and Ann Sengelman.
Betty was a homemaker, Mary Kay Consultant, and Cuisinart Consultant. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Betty was a collector of all things fun. She loved combing the beach for seashells and beach toys. She also collected pennies, which were only saved if she was the one to find them. This tradition has been passed to the other members of her family. Her trademark “smiley face” could be found at the end of letters and throughout notes between her family.
Betty was loved dearly by her children and daughters-in-law who she considered to be her own. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial Service will be held on January 20, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Johnny Tamale Cantina in the Agave Room 4647 E Sam Houston Pkwy. S. Pasadena, TX 77505.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, U.S.O. (www.alz.org).
