Billy H. Benefield

Bill Benefield, age 78, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 of complications from Alzheimer’s at The Meadows, Nashville, TN. Bill was born in Lawrence County, TN on October 27, 1939 and resided in Nashville and Brentwood, TN since 1964. He is predeceased by parents, Herman and Pearl Benefield; brother, Charles Benefield; nephew, Terrell Benefield, and great niece, Mallory Scott. He is survived by his loving wife, Carla Benefield; son, Ryan Benefield; close family friend, Katie Ham; brother, Gene Benefield (Nance) of Roanoke, VA; sister, Jeanette Matheny (Charles) Summertown, TN; sister in law, Judy Benefield; nieces, Kathy Benefield, Kim Scott, Krystina Hall, and Hayley Hall; nephews, Drew Benefield, Chuck Matheny, and Keith Matheny.

Bill was a retired Manufacturers Representative in the plumbing industry. He was respected and admired by many with his honesty, sincerity and knowledge of his chosen profession. A true salesman at heart, the genuine interest that he took in the lives of the people he worked with were his central focus with all he undertook. Bill built lifelong relationships and was a friend to so many. He was generous and giving with all whose paths he crossed.

He also was a great supporter of all sports including UT, the Titans and Brentwood Academy. He was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed serving as a MYF counselor for several years at Brentwood United Methodist.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, October 19th at eleven o’clock at Brentwood United Methodist Church with Bishop Joe E. Pennel officiating, with visitation with the family one hour preceding.
