Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gene Watson.
He is survived by his brother, Billy "Bird" Watson (Anne); his wife, Shelly Morgan; his children, Anthony (Megan), Bobby, Tabitha (Jonathan), and Jonathan "Jon Jon" (Tabby); as well as numerous family members and grandchildren.
He was born and raised in Donelson (Nashville). His greatest enjoyment in life was race car driving at the Nashville Fairgrounds. He had many cars, many crashes, and many wins. He turned his love of cars into his career as a hot rod mechanic and owned his own business.
