

Carol J. Blankenship Schubert Carol J. (Blankenship) Schubert, 79, of Nashville passed away August 4, 2015 following a brief illness. Carol was born in Nashville on December 26, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Tom A. and Clemma L. Blankenship; sister of the late Thomas S. Blankenship of Frankfort, Kentucky; and the former wife of the late Fritz J. Schubert of Nashville. She is survived by her son Mike Schubert of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters Lynn Schubert of Nashville and Sandi Mitchell of Seguin, Texas; brother Dr. Edward S. Blankenship of Manhattan, New York, and grandchildren Lindsey Schubert of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Robbie Schubert of Orlando, Florida; Alec and Kennedy Schubert of Jacksonville, Florida; Wesley Mitchell of Dallas, Texas and William and Olivia Mitchell of Seguin, Texas. Carol graduated from Hume Fogg High School and also attended West End High, Tarbox School, and the University of Tennessee-Nashville. She enjoyed family gatherings, travel, gardening, playing the piano, and musical comedies. She actively participated in the PTA, Girl Scout troop leadership, school fund-raisers, and neighborhood organizations. She enjoyed work as a school cross guard for several years for Metro Nashville. Everyone appreciated her warm outgoing personality and her great wit. She truly loved to laugh. She had a profound love for her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Mount Olivet.
