

He was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, on February 22, 1928, the son of Robert Brown Bracey and Jewel Marie Binkley Bracey. Mr. Bracey served in the United States Air Force as Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion TN Post #88, Al Menah Shrine Center, past Captain of the Mountaineers, Royal Order of Jesters Court 92, Scottish Rites Mason 32nd Degree, and was a Master Mason of Buena Vista/ East Nashville Lodge #560. Mr. Bracey retired from Bell South after thirty-seven years of service. He played on a Minor League Baseball Team, Cape Charles, VA Team in the mid-late 40’s. Mr. Bracey was a Past President of CCGA and won two times Hole in One at the Sanctioned Tournament Win. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bracey was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Bracey and a daughter, Donna Hutchison.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly K. and Allan Potts of Franklin, TN; son, Michael L. Bracey of Hollywood, FL; two grandchildren, Wednesday Dodd of Springhill, TN and Jeffrey J. Watts of Mount Juliet, TN; great-grandchildren, Jacob Dodd of Springhill, TN, Alexander, Shelby, Angelina, and Charles Watts all of Mount Juliet, TN; a brother, Jimmy Bracey of Pleasant View, TN; a sister, Nadine Enderby of Lockport, NY; a special friend, Peggy Binkley; and a devoted caregiver, Sandi Thomas.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 3, 2015, at eleven thirty in the morning, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening, Woodlawn Roesch-Patton-Funeral Home.
A Masonic Service will be held Thursday at seven o’clock in the evening, Woodlawn Roesch-Patton-Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Al Menah Shrine Center, Nashville, TN.
