In Pete’s youth, he was associated with Radnor Baptist Church. In his teenage years, he was a boy scout and on the football team for Central High School. He was a member of the Davidson County and La Vergne Rescue Squad. Pete was one of the first EMTs hired to put the Metro Ambulance Service for the Nashville Fire Department into operation. He also worked for the Nashville Fire Department Hydrant Division. Pete finished his career of 31 years working in the Nashville Fire Marshall’s Office.
Pete was known for striking up a conversation with anybody and could guarantee he would be telling jokes. He was warm, witty, and a personality you’d never forget. Pete enjoyed collecting coins and knives, building along with fixing things. He also likes to play games and watch movies. He was active in Tae Kwan Do, achieving his red belt. None of that compared to spending time with his family, one of his most significant accomplishments was helping to raise his daughter and spending time with his grandchild.
Pete is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gayle Lindaman; daughter, Deanna Livesay (Steven); granddaughter, Elizabeth “Elle” Livesay; niece, Tammy Sudderth; and nephew, David Greer Jr.
Other than his parents Pete is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Greer; and niece, Lisa Halliburton.
