

ROLFE, III, Charles, Nelson “Charlie”, age 80, passed away on June 22, 2013. Mr. Rolfe was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 9, 1932, the son of the late Charles Nelson Rolfe, Jr. and Dorothy Carlin Rolfe. His beloved wife, Margaret Oliver Rolfe, and brother, Joseph Carlin Rolfe, predeceased him. He is survived by his brother, John McKain Rolfe (Pat), sons, Charles Nelson Rolfe, IV (Delaney) Dallas, Texas, Robert Oliver Rolfe (Kathy) and William Vaughan Rolfe (Cathryn) of Nashville and eight grandchildren, Matney, Delaney, Charlotte, Robert, Jr., Carly, Leslie, Rena Clayton and Austin. Mr. Rolfe attended Montgomery Bell Academy and The Baylor School in Chattanooga, before accepting a scholarship to play football at Vanderbilt University. From there he joined the United States Navy where he became a Naval Pilot and was stationed in Key West, Florida. Shortly after starting a family, Margaret and Charlie returned to Nashville where Mr. Rolfe began a successful 40+ year career in the automobile business. Over the course of his life Mr. Rolfe developed a true lifelong passion for football, flying, and his love for his wife and children. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, at 2:00 pm the afternoon in the Cheek House at First Presbyterian Church located at 4815 Franklin Road, followed by a Memorial Service in Stanford Chapel at 4:00 pm.
