

Clarice Brown Stewart, 93, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024. Born on May 7, 1931, in Cross Plains, TN, Clarice was the beloved daughter of Flora Lena and Clarence Brown Somerville.
Clarice's life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing and spent her career as a registered nurse, caring for others with compassion and skill. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she found joy and solace in her faith.
Clarice was predeceased by her cherished husband, James Harold Stewart Sr., and her son, James Harold Stewart Jr., Michael Lee Stewart Sr., David Stewart, along with her brothers, John Somerville, Bonnie Somerville, Lloyd Somerville, Floyd Somerville, and Harold Dean Somerville.
A loving sister to Edith Camp, Clarice’s legacy lives on through her children and their families: Jenniffer Smith, Jammie Taylor, Michael Stewart Jr., and Catrina Bellis. Her joy and pride were also evident in her great-grandchildren, Jacen Smith, Kaitlin Smith, Mya Smith, Eric Taylor, Nina Taylor, Vikter Bellis, and Sebaston Bellis, and her great-great-grandchild, Callum Lester.
Clarice was known for her gentle and kind nature, her joy in gardening, sewing, and reading the Bible, and her cherished moments spent with family. Her vibrant spirit and loving presence made her a beacon of joy and peace to all who knew her. She was a woman of profound patience, kindness, and faith, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church or a charity of your choice in her honor.
Clarice's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and compassion. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were touched by her grace and kindness.
