

Clifton Boyle Sobel, a lifelong resident of Nashville, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Mr. Sobel was preceded in death by his wife Yvette “Debbie” (Hill) Sobel, Richard A. Sobel (father), Alleyn B. Sobel (mother) and Richard A. Sobel, Jr. (brother). He is survived by his son Clifton B. Sobel, Jr. (Michelle), his daughter Caroline Sobel Crouch (J.Crouch), granddaughters Ella Hill Crouch and Virginia Mae Crouch, and loving companion Ms. Susan Pritchett Allison. Mr. Sobel was born February 23, 1947 in Houston, Texas. Growing up in Nashville he attended Woodmont Elementary School, Julia Green Elementary School and Montgomery Bell Academy. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. Mr. Sobel was a Boy Scout, an award winning member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and the Franklin Road Jaycees. Clifton Sobel was a dedicated man of faith and respected member of the West End Church of
Christ from childhood through his passing. Mr. Sobel enjoyed sports and sporting events and was an outstanding high school football player. Clifton Sobel was most successful in his dedication as a loving father and grandfather for his children. Mr. Sobel will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity and particularly his sense of humor. Clifton B. Sobel’s funeral will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 2:00pm at the West End Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30pm until 4:30pm on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the church and an hour prior to the service on Monday. Serving as pall bearers will be his nephews Rick Sobel, Walter Moore, Mark Hill, Larry Hill, Ron Pate, Jr., Josh Hill, Christopher Hill and Mark Haynes. The honorary pall bearers are Mr. Sobel’s closest friends: Mr. Robert E. Kolarich, Mr. Steven Loftin, Mr. Max
Mendelsohn, Mr. Tom Clark, Mr. Oliver McIntire, Mr. Steve Hewlett, Mr. Ralph DeMarco, Mr.
Butch Garrett and Mr. Mike Davis.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, honor Mr. Sobel’s memory by donating to the
American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
