David worked for Nashville Gas Company most of his life until he retired. He was unpretentious; had strong opinions and was somewhat of a tease. He married Natalie Sherrill on August 14, 1982, in Nashville, Tennessee. David was a lover of nature and enjoyed wildlife, harvesting seeds, and gardening. He was a woodworker and fisherman and appreciated a good book. Most of all he liked spending time with his little Beagle “Mr. B.”
David is survived by his wife, Natalie Nixon; daughters, Dana (Terry) Walker, and Regina (Myron) Smith; grandchildren, James (Ashley) Bentley, Jacob Bentley, and Gwyneth (Will) Hopkirk; and great-grandchildren, James and Scarlett Bentley.
Other than his parents David is preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Nixon; and sisters, Billie Katherine (Smitty) Smith, and Anne Charlotte (Ben) Law.
