

David was born on Nov.1, 1943, in Nashville, TN. to William C. Waggoner. Jr., and Annie Laura Rice Waggoner. He graduated from David Lipscomb High School in Nashville. He also graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, completing his Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee, (1969-1970) & Residences at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University (1970-1972) and Emory University School of Medicine (1972-1973) in Psychiatry. His practice spanned over 50 years in 23 states.
He enjoyed reading and had a vast collection of books including medical advancements, investments, and classic literature.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Hodges, (John) of Saltillo, MS, nieces, Robin Rodgers of Saltillo, MS, Ashley Waggoner, and Jessica Waggoner of Marietta, GA, a nephew, Andy Hodges of Saltillo, MS, and great nieces, Isabella Hodges of Madison, MS and Kyleigh Waggoner of Marietta, GA, great nephews, Matt Rodgers of Saltillo, MS, Drew Rodgers of Saltillo, MS, Peyton Hodges of Knoxville, TN, and Foster Hodges of Oxford, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Annie Laura Waggoner, a brother, Philip, and nephews, Tracy Hodges and Jason Waggoner.
Funeral arrangements will be conducted at a later date at The Woodlawn Funeral Home in Nashville, TN.
