

Born on June 20, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee, Delores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She lived her life with unwavering grace, strength, and compassion—always putting others before herself. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Delores is survived by her children: Randy Scott, Debbie (Ronnie) Cornwell, and Mike (Becky) Scott; her grandchildren: Chris (Nancy) Cornwell, Bryan (Savannah) Cornwell, Samantha (Travis) Carpenter, Tyler (Kelsey) Scott, and Stephen Scott; great-grandchildren: Lilliana Cornwell, Mya Cornwell, Nathanael Cornwell, Emmalyn Cornwell, Ellington Carpenter, and Amelia Scott. She is also lovingly remembered by many extended family members and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Milton E. Scott, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
A woman of deep faith, Delores joyfully taught Sunday School for over 30 years and delighted in decorating the church for every holiday. She never missed a chance to attend her grandchildren’s events, and she never missed her Friday hair appointments. Known for her famous chocolate candy and carrot cake, always having candy in her purse, as well as her comforting hugs, gentle wisdom, and open-hearted hospitality, Delores made everyone feel at home.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to The Bridge and Life Care Center of Hickory Woods, Alive Hospice of Nashville, and Aimee Fellars Crain for their compassionate and devoted care during her final days.
Public visitation will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, 4pm-8pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Following the next day, Saturday, August 9, 2025, visitation will be held 11am-2pm and service to follow at 2:00pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or Alive Hospice.
Delores’s love and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
